Small Changes
Tackling climate change as an individual, a family, a neighbourhood or a business can feel daunting if you don’t know where to start.
You can click on an image below and find lots of ideas for small changes that make a world of difference.
Alongside each of the images you’ll also find some questions you can ask yourself about how you live now, the choice you make and what you might want to consider to help reduce your carbon footprint and help our earth home to regenerate and flourish.
Are you buying local food? Do you eat what's in season? Are you taking steps to reduce your food waste?
Do you plan for meals so you only buy what you need? How many days a week do you eat meat, fish, dairy?
Do you mend clothes or buy replacements? Do you buy secondhand or new?
How many plastic jars and bottles do you recycle every week? Have you considered making your own personal care products?
Is your home well insulated? Do you know the cost of your phantom load?
What are you doing in your garden to encourage wildlife? Are you gardening organically?
Do you walk or cycle short journeys? Do you encourage your children to do the same?
How many hours a week do you spend in nature? What are you doing to protect the land around you from climate change and the affect on birds, animals, trees and plants?
Do you know others who can join you in making small changes? Are you aware of groups, activities locally you can join to support climate change initiatives?
Do you use public transport? What other steps are you taking to reduce your consumption of fossil fuels in transport?
And when you’ve made a small change or two please share your experience on social - yours or ours - and encourage others to make a small change too. Or fill in a form and tell us all about it.
